Exporting and downloading
Exporting makes the piece's final file: an MP4 for a video, one PNG image per slide for a carousel. Each file has a fixed price, and exporting again what has already been made costs nothing.
Before you export
Save your changes. The Export button is in the editor's top bar and always exports the current saved version.
The export window
- This piece's format: the format the piece was created in.
- Additional formats: the ones you ticked in Also make in when creating the piece. Each format is one more file, with the same fixed price.
- Resolution: 1080p, recommended for Reels and Status, or 720p, a smaller file that uploads faster. Carousels always come out at full size.
- File name: the format goes into each file's name, like
saturday-deal-9x16.mp4orsaturday-deal-1x1-slide-2.png.
Videos longer than 60 seconds come out only in 9:16 or 16:9.
How much it costs
The button shows the total before you click. The price of each file depends on the video's length, in four bands: up to 15 seconds (and every carousel), up to 60, up to 90 and up to 120 seconds.
- A format this version already has, at the same resolution, comes out again free.
- If a file does not get ready, its credits come back.
While it exports
The export runs in the background and shows its progress as a percentage. You can close the window: Motion lets you know when it is done.
You can keep editing. The changes go into the next version, and the file being made is the one from the version you exported. When the piece changes after being exported, the library shows "Exported in v3", for example, and the editor offers to export the new version.
If an image, background video or soundtrack is still being generated, Motion asks first. Wait for it to be ready or use Export anyway, and the file comes out with the placeholder background in place of what was missing.
Downloading
When the file is ready, use Download 9:16 (or the file's format) or Copy link. The links last 1 hour.
Past the hour? In Exports, Get new links creates other links to the same file, at no cost and without rendering again.
Deleting an export
Delete, in the export list, removes the files from the list and from storage. The credits used do not come back, because the file was made. The piece stays intact and can be exported again.
