Music and sound effects
Every Motion video is born with sound: a soundtrack made for the piece and discreet sound effects that follow the animation. Both can be swapped or switched off. Carousels have no sound.
The soundtrack that comes with the piece
On the Create piece screen, the Soundtrack starts switched on at With music. Motion composes a song for that piece, in the brand's tone, and cuts the scenes on the beat. The soundtrack has its own price, which already shows in the "up to" on the Generate piece button. If it does not come out, it costs nothing.
For a video without music, switch off With music before generating.
Changing the soundtrack
Everything is on the editor's Soundtrack tab.
- In Style of the next track, describe the mood, the instruments or the pace ("acoustic guitar, upbeat"), or use a suggestion: Upbeat, Calm, Electronic, Corporate, Acoustic or the brand's tone.
- Generate track or Generate another track shows the price in a confirmation. The music takes about 1 minute, and you can keep editing in the meantime.
- The tracks you have already generated are kept in Earlier tracks. Going back to one of them costs nothing.
If the music is shorter than the video, it repeats with a smooth join, and Motion tells you. A new track does not go into the piece until you save.
Using your own music
Use my music uploads a file of yours, at no cost.
- MP3, M4A, WAV or AAC, up to 30 MB and 10 minutes;
- in the piece, the music is cut to the video's length, with a fade at the end;
- uploaded music is kept in the brand.
Before the upload, Motion asks you to confirm you have the rights to use it. Instagram and TikTok mute or take down videos with copyrighted music, so only use music that is yours, bought with a commercial license or royalty-free.
Volume and silence
- Volume sets how loud the music is compared with the rest;
- the speaker button next to it (Mute the track) brings the music's volume to zero in one go;
- No music takes the music out of the piece. The sound effects stay.
Sound effects
Besides the music, Motion adds short sounds to the animation: one at each scene change and light touches at the moments when an element arrives on screen. They are on by default, low and subtle.
To remove them, switch off Sound effects on the animation on the Soundtrack tab and save. Switching them on and off costs nothing.
Sound in the export
The exported MP4 carries the soundtrack and the effects exactly as they are in the saved version. If you changed the sound after exporting, export the new version.
