The brand in Motion

The brand is what makes a piece come out with your name, your logo, your colors and your prices. Building and editing brands spends no credits.

Costs no credits: no step in this guide uses AI credits.

Three ways to have a brand

Source How it starts Where colors, fonts and logo come from
From a website you paste the address and Motion reads the page from what was read, reviewed by you
Created here you fill it in by hand from what you chose
From a project by opening the Motion tab in an app's editor from the app's theme, always up to date

A piece can also come out with No brand. Then Motion picks colors and fonts from the request, and nothing is saved as a brand.

The account's brands are in Motion, in the side menu, on the Brands tab. The New brand button opens the form.

Reading the brand from the site

Under Fill in from the site, paste the address and click Read site. Motion opens the home page and the product pages and brings back, within 20 seconds:

  • name, logo, colors and fonts;
  • if the site shows them, products or services with their price.

Nothing is saved at that point. You check what came in, fix whatever you want and only then create the brand. If some part could not be read, Motion says which one ("Not readable on the site: logo") and you choose it by hand. When you create the brand, you confirm it is yours.

Reading the site spends no credits, but, like the rest of Motion, it only works on a paid plan.

Identity

  • Logo: PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 5 MB, ideally with a transparent background. Without a logo, Motion uses the name's initial over the main color.
  • Colors: four roles, Main, Accent, Background and Text. Below them, Motion shows the contrast between text and background and between accent and main, and warns you when the combination may be hard to read.
  • Fonts: one for Headings and another for Text, or Automatic choice.
  • Brand tone: Cheerful, Energetic, Cozy, Elegant or Sober. The piece's director reads the tone to choose the pace, the music and the wording.

The preview next to the form changes as you edit.

What you offer

What you offer holds the products, services or plans with a price that a piece can show. It is optional: it is only for pieces that feature an item.

Prices read from the site arrive marked to check. A piece only uses a price after you confirm it in Check price (or Price is right, in the list). This exists because a wrong price in an ad costs more than a minute of checking.

Inside the piece, the price comes from the item and is not typed in the editor. To change a price, edit the item.

An app's brand

When you open the Motion tab in an app's editor, that project's brand is created on its own. It has no colors or fonts of its own: it reads the app's theme. To change how the pieces look, change the app's Brand tab.

The items also come from the app, live. In Create piece, the Comes from field picks the data model (products, services, plans) and you tick the records you want to show.

Deleting a brand

Delete brand takes the brand off the list, and it no longer creates pieces. The pieces already made with it keep opening, editing and exporting as usual.
